Born in Maryland, Stephanie Guzman resides in Belcamp, MD with her husband Derick and daughter Katelyn. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Delaware and her Master’s degree in reading from Towson University. She currently is a National Board Certified Teacher working for Harford County Public Schools as a reading specialist.
When she began her teaching career as a second grade teacher, she noticed there were not many books available to children addressing the many character development issues that are important today. The Adventures of Oliver the Clownfish: Invitation Slip-Up was the first in her series of inspiring children’s books. The Adventures of Oliver the Clownfish: Acting Cool is the second book in the series. The third book, The Adventures of Oliver the Clownfish: Sticky Fins, explores the issue of stealing. Through the success of her books, Stephanie has decided to start her own publishing company, Not So Plain Jane Publishing. Her company is an imprint of RJ Communications.
Stephanie has been a member of the Independent Book Publishers Association and the Mid-Atlantic Book Publishers Association.
She is currently a member of Cambridge Who’s Who and the International Literacy Association.
